Things are on the up with the family but the business is slow. So my pressures of juggling family life has now been replaced by financial pressures of the business, but hey, we'll get through this too. When I wake up in the morning & see my 4 children smile at me it seems all worth it. I love the hustle & bustle of a busy household & the noise they make between all 4 of them. Its loud I can tell you!!!

The ups & downs of a busy family life is what keeps me going otherwise I would be bored.

 Comments

Strange!!!!!

I haven't been in for a while, my 2 beautiful twins are taking up all of my time just now, along with the housework, paperwork & looking after my 2 boys as well.

The girls are doing ever so well, they are thriving. They are 16wks old today and are full of giggles & smiles.

A strange thing though...........................they both wake up around 5 - 5.30am for their morning feed, we feed them & then wind them. My mum has been helping me out this week as hubby is away working. Whilst Twin 1 is being winded she looks towards my wardrobe & smiles. This, you think, might not be strange but it takes Twin 1 a wee while to smile, she likes to study people's faces first & then the smiles appear. For the past 4 mornings she has done this, she looks in exactly the same place and beams and then laughs. Do you think she sees someone??? If so, the person must be very nice as she almost looks over there every morning to see. Can babies see things we can't???? The funny thing is, Twin 2 is unaware of the situation, she smiled once but not nearly as many times as Twin 1.

 Comments

Update

Hey everyone, haven't been here for ages but I'll update you now.

I've had my babies, identical twin girls, they were born in June by emergency c-section. They are adorable and they are piling on the weight now. Twin 1 was 4lb 12oz & Twin 2 was 6lb 1oz, but now Twin 1 is 8lb & Twin 2 is 8lb 15.5oz. They will be 6wks tomorrow.

Although they are a joy to watch & to cuddle, they are extremely hardwork too. There really isn't enough hours in the day. Hubby has been back to work for a few weeks now & we've kind of got into a routine, feeding time is the hardest part. Both are fed at the same time & it takes me over an hour to feed both, wind them & change them. Just now they are feeding every 4hrs, which is great, at least I can get some things done in between but not sleeping. I'm surviving on 5hrs sleep per 24hrs, I'm exhausted!!!

The weather is affecting them big time, its so hot & sticky and they really don't like it. They are so restless & won't take their full amount of milk which in turn makes them hungry before their next feed. I'm sure it will all settle down soon though.

Right, I'm going now as I can hear one of them screaming their little lungs out, its soooooooooooooo funny when they both cry together, I have screaming in stereo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Comments

A wee update

I thought I'd update you lot on my pregnancy. I'm 25wks now, only 11wks to go & counting. Everything is going fine, both babies are doing well and are now approx. 1lb 7oz each. They have long legs too. Did I mention we are having 2 little identical girls.

I have to say though, this pregnancy is zapping me of energy. They are taking every little ounce of energy I have and using it up in movements, day & night!!!! Most days I feel good, I get bad indigestion and sometimes my back is achey but on the whole I'm going ok. Around 2ish every day I feel knackered & if I sit down then that's me, I do try & catch a 15-20min nap every day just so I can keep up with my other 2 & all the daily chores.

The schools are on holiday just now & its been great. I've been getting up an hour later but what a difference that's made, but alas that will all end next week.

Anyway, another scan on Monday just to check measurements & growth, keep you updated.

 Comments

Scan Today

Well I've been for my 17wk scan although they dated me at 16+5wks. It was really just a check up but I'm glad to say that the babies are fine. They have plenty of fluid around them & both bladders were present. We couldn't see what sex they were because they had their backs to us & kept wriggling around.

Its so funny to see them twisting & turning on the monitor. Twin 2 kept kicking Twin 1 in the head, well, that's what it looked like. Obviously, its not hurting Twin 1 but they are both so active. I've been feeling little movements here & there so its going to be fun & games when they seriously start to grow AND kick me for real.

I've to go back in 2wks time for another check up of fluid & bladders, then back the next week for the BIG scan. That will be the one were they check for Spina Bifida, check the bladders once again etc, etc. Then after 20wks my consultant reckons I will be on 2 weekly scans from then on.

I'm glad they're monitoring me closely and it gives me a chance to see how much they've grown since the last time.

I did get pictures this time but they weren't so clear so I'm not going to upload them. Have to wait till the next time!!!!

 Comments

Scan Photos

I've uploaded the scan photos from the 14wk scan. Hopefully I'll have more next week.

I'm 16wks now and I found out a fortnight ago that my twins are identical. From now on I've to go for scans every 2-3wks, this is because my twins share a placenta & a membrane but have their own sacs. They are MCDA twins, which means they could be at risk to TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). My scans will be very detailed from now on, they have to check the babies bladders, heart, fluid around them, check they are both growing at roughly the same rate. Its a small risk that they could develop this but the earlier it is detected then the earlier they can start treatments.

I'm feeling fine, my sickness has passed & some days I have a lot of energy and then some days I just want to go back to bed & sleep. I've started to feel little movements which is reassuring.

My next scan is 13th Feb, can't wait to see those little babies again. The last scan was amazing, they were both moving around so much, glad I couldn't feel them at that point. I've been told they'll tell me the sex if we want to know. Its either 2 boys or 2 girls, I think we'll probably find out just so we can get organised.

So I'll be in touch once I've had my scan next week.

 Comments

My scan

I know it's been a while since I was last here but I felt I had to tell you my news. I went for my 12wk scan yesterday, I'm acutally only 11wks but I didn't know that until yesterday, anyway, the news is.........................................I'm having *TWINS*

I'm still in shock but very happy & excited at the news. It's all the practical stuff that is running through my head now, cots, double pram, bigger car. My hubby was gobsmacked but also chuffed, he started to phone everyone straight away.

It was a lovely way to end 2007 & start 2008.

I'm going back in 2 wks time so they can measure them properly, one baby wasn't playing ball, and they'll be able to tell me if they
are identical or non-identical. How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I'm now trying to get as many freebies as possible for the new arrivals in July. I've been on this website and it has links. If you use my link & complete an offer then I'll get my freebies. Have a look & see.

So, I'll keep you posted on how thing are developing.

An update on my eldest & his football......................................he took his assessment (yes, it was 2hrs of playing football) AND he has been accepted on the next stage. All it means is he has an extra training evening but its a step nearer the academy. There was nearly 200 boys at the assessment & only 48 of them were chosen to go through to the next stage. I'm well chuffed and so, so proud of him. He can't be accepted into the academy until he's 10 so we've a wee while to wait before that happens, but I'm sure it will if he carries on enjoying it as much as he does.

The youngest had his birthday this month, thoroughly enjoyed himself & was spoilt rotten as usual. Can't believe how big he is getting & how cheeky!!! I also had a birthday this month, 2 days after the youngest. Can believe how old I'm getting, its never really bothered me before but when I look around at the school gates and notice the young mums, it makes me feel old. I don't think I look my age though.......................21 again & again.

Oh, and work is busy (yeah, yeah, yeah), we are fully booked up till Christmas & now we're booking for January. So relieved but still have a long way to go. Its a start anyway.

 Comments

Good Morning!!!

I've not been in for a while but I'll explain my reasons why in a minute. I've been trying to stay away from the computer as a social thing and spend more time working (!!!!!!), it's paid off a little bit. Work has picked up slightly, although next week is a disaster, but November is very good. I've also been trying to finish my end of year accounts, to no avail.

I've volunteered to be Treasurer at our school's PTA, that's taken a long time to sort out, still haven't sorted everything out yet but I'm on top of things now. Paperwork, paperwork & more paperwork, just as well I enjoy that sort of thing.

My boys are doing well at school, eldest got a glowing report the other week & youngest has settled down to school life really well.
Eldest is still doing his football and doing very good. He has an assessment at the end of this month, scouts from the football academy will be there, the assessment lasts for 2 hrs (oh my god he'll be knackered) and they will point out what he needs to improve on or not. He had his team photos taken on Sunday, it was great. They were in the main stadium and they looked fantastic, can't wait to get copies. I'm so proud of him.

My kitchen is finally getting painted, very boring colours but the floors are restricting me & we can't afford to replace the floorings yet so bland boring colours it is, I will accessorize to jazz it up a bit.

Other that that is pretty much the same, counting down to Christmas. Already started some shopping, have to get organised you know. I love Christmas!!!

 Comments

Life!!!!!!

I know its been a while but I've been very busy. It's still taking me a while to settle into a new routine whilst boys are at school. I thought the day would drag but if I'm perfectly honest, the days are going in sooooooooooooo fast. I think I'm achieving something and then I look at my watch and the day has gone.

I'm trying my hardest to generate new work but its proving very difficult, but I'm not giving up. Work has been trickling in but not fast enough, the next few months are going to be so hard and I've got so many birthdays coming up too. My eldest is 8 this month and
I'm having to rob Peter to pay Paul just so I can get him a pressie. Not fun .

I'm starting to think that the house might have to go, the only snag is the houses around here aren't much cheaper than the one we bought so we are up s**t creek without a paddle. I'm probably being slightly dramatic here but some days its hard to look on the positive side of things.

Right, I've got to go now and do some housework. I've proof read a report this morning, put out a few invoices and paid a couple of bills. I have also walked the dog, had a cup of tea & ate half a big bar of galaxy chocolate . I need to do the housework to burn of the calories I've just consummed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My plans for next week are drumming up some business for our business, we've been quite quiet recently & I don't like it so its time to hit the phones. I'm also preparing for some visitors at the weekend, they arrive Friday & go on Sunday. They are good friends of ours so it should be a good laugh, I have also requested Sunday off work so I'm excited about that.

Other than that its just the same old, same old.

 Comments

Oh the pain

I'm not usually a person who gets sick. I'm the kind of person who hates taking medication & will only do so if it is really, really necessary.

Well, this afternoon I had a bit of a sore stomach, I was talking to my youngest while he ate his lunch but I felt the need to go to the bathroom. I got to the bottom of the stairs & had to crawl to the top, doubled over I made it to the bathroom but couldn't even attempt to sit down on the loo. I came out to head down the stairs to tell hubby but couldn't make it. Luckily, hubby was coming up and helped me into the bedroom. The pain was awful, I couldn't even get myself on the bed. I couldn't straightened my body & I couldn't catch my breath. The pain was from my back, up my rightside & right across my stomach. It soom passed, with the help of medication.

I managed to get to the school for the oldest coming out, feeling much better & explained my symptoms to my friend, who happens to be a nurse. She diagnosed on the spot........................................kidney stones. So I've to keep an eye out & see if the pain comes back, if so, off to the doctors I go.

Luckily, I've been ok tonight, I've had little twinges but nothing as bad as this afternoon. Gave my hubby a right fright this afternoon, I have a very high pain threshold so he panicked.

 Comments

First Day back & First Day at School

Yep, its the first day back at school today, but also the first day for my youngest. My oldest didn't seemed that bothered about going back but once in the playground, he ran off to be with his friends. His teacher this year is a good one, she's firm but fair & I reckon he'll do really well with her.

My youngest was so excited about starting school. He was up, had his breakfast, dressed & champing at the bit to go. The school have staggered the starting times of the P1 class so that each little group gets time to adjust to their surroundings before the next group comes in. My youngest was the first group in today, he went all quiet but soon saw the sand tray & all the diggers. I was allowed to stay with him for 10-15mins, which I did, but he didn't really notice me. When I left I had a lump in my throat & a tear in my eye & I was so glad to see him at lunchtime . He's 1/2 day for the first 2 wks & then full-time. He said he had a great time & he was very informative about the morning whilst we ate our lunch. I'm sure he'll settle down just fine.

The problem being, what am I going to do with myself without any little children to look after???????????????????

 Comments

Reflection

Sunday night is a time of reflection over the past week. Hubby goes to the pub on a Sunday night so I get to watch telly or do whatever I like, but I always find myself thinking about things. Maybe its the silence, the boys are tucked up in bed, the dog is snoring happily on the rug & its so peaceful in the house. So my thoughts on the past week are.................................I've spent half
the week worrying about finances & how the heck we are going to drum up some business in such a short space of time. I've also had a lot of useful thoughts, no, ideas about how to do this. I've shouted a lot at my boys, which I hate doing. I'm turning into one of those nagging mothers, always on their case to do this & to do that. I don't want to be like that.

So I've decided to look towards the next week & make it more positive. Tomorrow (monday) I'm having my hair cut, I'm going for a complete re-style, something different, something funky. Wednesday, I'm having my photograph professionally taken with my oldest but dearest friend, that should be a right laugh, she's also attempting to move into her cottage this week. Its going to be a good week this week, we are going to get some calls about work & I'm going to get organised in the house, in the office & I'm going to get all the stuff ready for school.

Think positive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe it just might happen.

 Comments

Summer Hols

I can't believe that we've only got 2 weeks left of the summer hols. They have gone in so fast & I haven't achieved half the things I wanted to do. School shoe shopping tomorrow morning, that should be fun!!!!

The one thing I did achieve is I actually got around to glossing the window sills in our "office", they really did need doing & I gave myself a 6 week opportunity to do them in. I have to say they look great. I also purchased the paint for the kitchen, that will be done when boys are back & settled into school life & I've got all my paperwork etc, sorted out.

What else..........................my friend moves into her little cottage across the road from me next week. It's been so exciting watching her place take shape and it will be nice to have her across the road. Also, to get all her stuff out of my house. My house has become the storage unit for about 2+ months now. My house shall look bare once its all gone.

Now, looking at paint charts trying to decide what colour to paint the kitchen. Also, measuring up for new curtains in the livingroom. It never ends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't run for very long as running is not one of my favourite sports, I'm not good at it but I will get better.

So I'm feeling a little more energised, I've got the washing on, I've made the cuppas and now I'm off to make breakfast for the boys.

I will smile & feel happy today.

I'm irritable, I'm irrational, I'm not happy. I shout at my boys for no reason, I bite their heads off, I don't laugh or smile anymore. What the hell is wrong with me????? I realise I have nothing to worry about (well, apart from the whole financial thing) and that there are worse people off than me but I just can't seem to shake my mood.

I'm overweight (not by much) but I'm at that uncomfortable stage where my clothes are a little on the tight side but I don't want to go out & buy bigger ones. I've no motivation to do any exercise or anything for that matter.

I don't like myself at the moment, I'm no fun and I'm so crabbit, its just not me. I find myself not listening to the boys when they are talking to me or my hubby, I drift off and think of nothing.

Yeah, and my hair needs cut & dyed. I've also just sat & ate loads of those jelly sweets you get and now I feel sick.

I'm going to bed, maybe I'll feel bettter in the morning. Actually, I'm going to give myself a good talking to and I WILL feel better in the morning. I'm going to set my alarm early and go out running with the dog, rain, hail or shine. My poor family has been through enough of my moods for the past 2 weeks & I'm not going to put them through anymore. I'll bin the medication & see if that makes a difference. Rather have a sore foot than this awful mood thing.

See you tomorrow. TTFN.

We stopped for coffee and then headed off to an expensive furniture store come gift shop come cafe place. We had a great time!! Didn't buy any expensive furntiure, although, I saw plenty which would have enhanced the decor in my house but unfortunately the cheque book (nor credit card) would not stretch that far.

One of the best things about the day was my mum and I just had a lovely day chatting, relaxing & dreaming. It was so nice to spend some quality time with her without my boys running around & screaming. She's been through a lot lately but she always manages to put a brave face on it and smile, except, that's not the case. She spoke to me today about how she sometimes has "black" days when she doesn't want to smile to the world. Hopefully things will get better & each day will cause less pain. So on that note, I'm taking her out again tomorrow but with the boys this time. She laughs at me when I'm roaring at the boys to stop shouting or stop touching that or get out from under that display. She says I'm only getting what I deserve, she said the same things to my sister & I.

 Comments

Friday Night

Invited a few girls round for a few drinks & nibbles.

Went very well, I think. The best of it was Purpledragon came down to see us.

Purpledragon, another friend & I go way back, we all lived in the same place until Purpledragon moved away. Our children are all the same age (roughly) and would have been at the same school. The 3 of us got on like a house of fire & still do. It was so nice to catch up again & have those daft conversations I so miss.

So anyway, lots of alcohol comsumed, lots of chocolates eaten and not a sore head between us. We've made a pact to meet up again in the summer hols so the children can play together and we can just relax, have crazy conversations & shout at the children for arguing with each other.

I'm checking my diary now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its only week one & I'm struggling to keep them entertained. I'm a firm believer that they need to entertain themselves once in a while but they are driving me crazy already. I have another 5wks of this. I love having them at home but boy, are they trying my patience.

Right, I have to go. Older boy is dressed, he must think its winter & younger one is running about in the nude. He really is comfortable with his body.

I'm so glad I wrote those diaries, there is so many things I had forgotten & so many of the things have made me laugh again. My friend, who met this guy, is my old school friend. I've known her since I was 5 and we've grown up together, we've been through thick & thin and there isn't anything she doesn't know about me & vice versa. I think it is so nice we can share these memories together & laugh and cry at the same things.

Thank god for my diaries, although I have to say, I hope my boys never read them. My language was terrible & I don't want them to know what I got up to when I was 15, 16, 17 yrs old. Although, I did seem to study quite a lot, according to my diaries.

Right I'm going.

Yet another proud moment. I had a tear in my eye when youngest went up to collect his folder. They all looked so small & so young to be starting school but here we are. BUT, guess what happened.........................just as the youngest went up, I was poised and ready to take the photo........................yes, the bl**dy battery ran out . No photos. Just as well other people were there and took photos for me.

So its count down until they break up from school, 1 1/2 days to go. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now just having lunch and then its back and forward all afternoon dropping the boys at different parties.

No rest for the wicked .

We spend about 2 1/2 hrs up there and we had good fun. The boys bled us dry going on this ride and that ride, juice, sweets, burgers & candy floss. But, they are exhausted now and tucked up in bed fast asleep. A good day had by all I think.

The pub is busy tonight, it must be either a DJ or Karoke on tonight and there's loads of people standing outside having their ciggies and generally being quite loud. Not to worry, we are away to watch "Jekyll" and have a few beers of our own.

So, he's away back to nursery now because he didn't want to miss "show and tell".
